Simple Integrated Search
OPGELET!
In a nutshell:
- harvest all databronnen and normalize to DC, we will start with those that are available via OAI-PMH
- store (and index) the harvested data using Apache-Solr.
- make the data available via a SRU interface
- connect to other databronnen that offer SRU
Summary
We are pleased to announce that we have completed a combined search service.
It provides a SRU interface to a number of data sources, combining harvested OAI sources with federated SRU searches.
Architectural description and documentation to follow.
For now the UI to the combined service can be viewed.
TODO
Collect preliminary info (in progress)
Gather what databaronnen are actually harvestable (in progress)
Do some SRU server test code
Code sprint on 9 November

these URL titles should really be more explanatory, eh?
Some Python SRU examples brrrr, the code example in there use libxml2 directly, we don't want to do THAT.
